FRIENDS OF EARTH...

Five Man Electrical Band is busying itself this year with a project of epic proportions, aligning itself with The Friends Of The Earth (Canada) in a campaign initiative which will bring the band’s iconic song “Signs” to the world stage yet again. “Signs” is now the official anthem for FOE (Canada) with new lyrics and a new message that speaks to all of us about how people of the world must act now to protect and preserve the planet’s fragile eco system.

The band is preparing itself to record the song and film the production in the studio.

Legendary record producer Eddie Kramer is taking the reigns on production of the project. Eddie’s body of work is staggering. He has worked with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, produced or engineered Jimi Hendrix’s albums, recorded the live sound for the original movie and album Woodstock in 1969. He has done many Led Zeppelin records, worked with Santana, Kiss, David Bowie, Peter Frampton and Joe Cocker. The list of artists goes on and on.

Many renowned artists and sport figures are hearing the call and have responded, committing to join forces with Five Man Electrical Band bringing their voices to the cause.

FOE is the Canadian voice of the world’s largest grassroots environmental network, Friends Of The Earth International (FOEI), uniting 76 national member groups in 76 countries with nearly 2 million members and supporters around the world. Working together, they promote solutions that will help create environmentally sustainable and socially just societies.

Five Man Electrical Band and FOE are launching “Signs” and the campaign on October 19, 2011 to MTV, MuchMusic, Network Television and the Internet with 40 days and 40 nights to reach Durban, South Africa where governments of the world will unite for a global summit on climate change (COP 17).
